Blue

The tide has come for change

BLUE is a film about how the oceans are broken. Half of all marine life has been lost in the last 40 years. And by 2050 there will be more plastic in the sea than fish.

Featuring passionate advocates for ocean preservation, the film tackles themes of habitat destruction, species loss and pollution. Filmed in the seas surrounding Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines and the USA, BLUE looks at how the very nature of the ocean is being altered.

Our ambition is to make an evocative and emotional film that connects to the audience through its imaginative cinematography, lush music score and eerie soundscape.

Northern Pictures are working with the support and collaboration of Greenpeace, WWF, Pew Charitable Trusts and the Australian Marine Conservation Society.

BLUE is the story our generation needs to hear. We hope this film will change the way we think about our liquid world and inspire audiences to action.

“Blue is an important reminder of the fragility of our planet’s environment.” – The Australian
