We opened in 1985 on Hereford Street as Alice in Videoland, a little shop determined to whet the appetites of discriminating film-lovers who were being left hungry by the limited selection at their local video chain. Alice became a place celebrating not just the rare and the unusual, but films of all kinds, from all over the world.
Our collection today remains second to none, a comprehensive library where foreign films, documentaries, cult and arthouse titles are packed right alongside the best mainstream film has to offer.
Now located in the old Post Office building on Tuam Street, we added two cinemas, the Egyptian and the Wonderland. This gave us a platform to show all kinds of new and exciting films that are often passed over by the larger cinemas.
We have a licenced bar with an assortment of unique cinema snacks and local beverages. On the rental side, we’re proud to offer new unlimited DVD monthly subscriptions, free DVD home delivery, with a local customer support team. We offer special events, previews, film festivals, as well as merchandise and gift vouchers.
Alice is better than ever, so whether you are one of our cherished regulars or a new face looking for a place to meet your every filmic need, come down the rabbithole to our incredible world where you can discover (and rediscover) the best cinema has to offer.
